Entrance to the Eternal Prison will be simple enough, but the Guardians will have words with Kain before he goes forward.
Guardian 1: “Stop! Malefactor of the first experiment, you shall not destroy our second attempt of correcting defilers of Natural Law.”
Kain: “I have no wish to destroy your prison a second time, but I believe you hold a prisoner. He is one of my soldiers, and I have come here to collect my possession.”
Guardian 2: “All here deserve the punishment we have decreed for them. You are lucky that you still barely follow your destiny enough not to belong here.”
Kain: “I suggest you relinquish what is mine before I lose my patience.”
Guardian 3: “Be warned, for we are prepared for an attack more now than ever.”
The Guardians are very similar to their Blood Omen 2 formers, making them average obstacles. The Eternal Prison’s interior will not resemble a prison so much as the interior of an upside down beehive. The prisoners are allowed to roam free. Some will even attack Kain when he does not expect it. The puzzle here will be a mixture of levers controlling the height of prison boxes with chains going up through a hole in the roof. Shifting into the Spectral Realm will be necessary to shift them into the right position to jump upon. In addition to wraiths and Sluagh, there will be a new wraith-spirit that acts like a large bee, attacking Kain in mid jump.
Once the first Hive is solved, there will be two more like it above, only larger and more boxes to maneuver, all the time with Guardians randomly appearing. The second puzzle will be an arrangement of old bridges across a zone that is red sky above and below. There will be levers that when pulled will turn time backwards and repair the bridges. However, these levers have a limited time frame and will revert back in a short time, making the bridges fall back down. As the player moves forward, there will be more bridges and Guardians in the way.
After this, Kain will enter a door that transports him to Amon. Amon is within a large steel aquarium with a single, circular window. He is a massive monster resembling a crossbreed between an eel and a bloated piranha. His skin is a mud orange, his teeth long and narrow, and his eyes a reflective light-blue. Before Kain reaches him, the guardians meet Kain.
Guardian 1: “You must halt at once!”
Guardian 2: “This prisoner is unforgiveable, and must be punished according to the Natural Law!”
Guardian 3: “There must be justice!”
Kain: “Enough of this! Hand Amon over or perish at my claws.”
Guardian 1, 2, 3: “This we cannot allow.”
The Guardian’s forms become blurry and then combine, forming a giant, six-armed Guardian. Although impressive, the Master Guardian is still not a miniboss. It simply takes perfect timing to kill. Afterwards, Kain walks up to Amon.
Kain: (Thinking) “Though my entire legacy experienced a physical metamorphosis over time, I had not yet seen one so massive. Amon was like an infant leviathan, a sea beast easily capable of capsizing small ships. Was it his form alone that defied nature, or the manner in which he gained such a size? Either way, I was sure he’d make a fine addition to my army.”
Amon’s eyes glow and a prisoner within a nearby cage speaks.
Amon: “Kain, you’ve come to rescue me?”
Kain: “Surprised to see me? I’ve known very few who deserved to be locked away in this stagnant dungeon. Even I have not deserved such a fate.”
Amon: “I will never revoke my so-called sins against nature. I admit to no overruling morality to abide by. Any action I took was for my benefit and mine alone.”
Kain: “Good, this place has not yet broken you to a whimpering slave. I have come to reclaim my empire and make war against the unworthy children of Melchiah, and I choose you to serve as one of my surviving Cornels. Do you consent, or have you become attached to your new surroundings?”
Amon: “I’d sacrifice every one of my loyal subjects as payment for escape. I consent to your rule and will gladly serve by your side.”
Kain: (Thinking) “At least this child of Rahab was reasonable. He seemed less like a clergyman and more like royalty. So long as I was Emperor in his eyes, I cared not how he viewed himself.”
Kain turns a wheel on the tank and quickly moves out of the way of the flowing water. There is a water-filled ditch constructed especially to move Amon through the Eternal Prison. Kain cannot exit the way he came, but there are locked doors with windows nearby. When Kain looks through, dead bodies and prisoners being tortured by Guardians can be seen. The trick will be to use the Necromancer’s Staff to resurrect corpses and move them around the Guardians’ notice in order to release gates barring Amon’s path. Once they have been removed, Amon swims into the room and breaks the locks on the door, allowing Kain to move forward and kill the Guardians. There are a few rooms similar to this, each becoming more difficult to move around the Guardians. Before Amon is released into the sea, six guardians in the last room from into two Master Guardians. After they are destroyed, Amon swims into the sea while Kain watches and walks back to the ship.
Next, Kain is seen standing on a ledge with Jehoram swimming nearby.
Kain: (Thinking) “After Amon’s return, he immediately began organizing his forces and preparing for the future war’s effort. My next destination would be through Raziel’s territory in search for his lineage. Not that I expected to find any, or that they would join me, but it was the least I owed him. The moment I executed him as a traitor, I decreed his children enemies as well, scattering them to the winds. If there were any left, I would try my best to recruit them, for the thought of something from Raziel aiding me would help me conceive of a real victory.”
Amon swims beside a dam nearby the Drowned Abbey and destroys it.
Kain: (Thinking) “My path was blocked by the forces of the Melchahim. In order to clear it, Amon destroyed pieces of the dam flooding the Abbey. As the water flowed down the mountainside, I couldn’t decipher between the noises of crashing waves and the screams of the dying.”
