Legacy of Kain: Fate’s End
Chapter 16

This chapter will prepare the Player for the mechanics of the massive battle coming afterwards.  Kain will be able to see the forces of Yofiel moving in the distance (their torches), but he can also see a few of the Melchahim scurrying about in the darkness.

Kain: (Thinking) “Yofiel’s path was mostly defendable, but Pashur found two weaknesses in it.  The wind was high, and the leaves in the tress hid the noise of his movement.  A mountain in the distance created a shadow in the moonlight, giving a blanket of darkness to hide their numbers.  It wasn’t much, but it was enough to gain the edge against a hasty army.  It would also have to be my edge against Pashur.”

There will be a small square on the upper-left hand area of the screen.  Within it there will be three colors of dots.  Dark Blue always centered for Kain, red for Melchahim, and yellow for Pashur.  The trick is to use ‘Leap’ to automatically kill the larger form of Melchahim, then use ‘Lightning Bolt’ repeatedly to kill the others.  The upper-level Melchahim look like a bad combination of two zombie bodies; three arms, two heads, and about an extra two feet higher and wider than Kain.  If the Player doesn’t follow this method or immediately shifts into the Spectral Plane after the first kill, four other teams will eventually follow the noise and attack at once (along with Pashur).  If the Player attacks Pashur first, then the same will happen.
Pashur is massive; he’s twenty feet wide, ten feet tall, many pale and fatted rolls of flesh, and amouth so wide that it goes all the way down to his chest.  He will take slugs with his massive fists, causing damage even if blocked.  He’ll stomp on the ground, making Kain fall down so that he can walk over Kain.   This is only avoidable by timed jumps.  If the Player keeps hitting Pashur’s stomach, Pashur will yell out a poisonous fume that slowly eats away at Kain’s lifesource.  Pahsur’s life will solwoy gow away, but not nearly fast enough.  The trick is to attack Pashur’s back, and then allow Kain to be caught and swallowed.  Attacking from inside will damage Pashur a lot, but after so long he will beat on his stomach and return the damage.  The Player must sift into the Spectral Plane before this, using the Executioner’s Blade to cut through Pashur’s stomach.  After he dies, Pashur’s soul in the Spectral Plane shudders and splits into five strong Melchahim wraiths.  After they are consumed, Dumuzi’s face appears.

Dumuzi: “Your needs for power have increased, and so has your need for time.  With Pashur’s soul, you now can consume wraiths as effortlessly as he did his mortal foes.  They will immediately sustain you without requiring that they be beaten beforehand.  Go join your army, Kain.  We must both prepare for what is to come.”
