"Are you ready Kain?", - The Seer asked, - "It is time to end with the False God once and forever. However be careful. He has Free Will, so I cannot foresee his actions. He will try to confuse you, to kill you, to lead you to a place and time period, when Raziel still lived. He will try to make you encounter him. Do not fail".
"I am not a novice, Seer. I am ready for every challenge. And if I made a coin lay on its edge, then I can bring down the one who pulls the strings", - I said arrogantly.
"Do not push it, Kain. You are still connected to the Wheel of Fate. He is not", - Janos said.
"Are you coming with us, Seer?", - I asked, - "Because now I need your help".
"I will, as soon as reach him", - she said.
So we all crossed the time portal, and returned to the era, when I had restored the Balanse, just a few moment after I have left. And as we did, The Seer disapperared. I started mistrusting her. Why could not she help me, when everything was going to end? Why did she pull everything on me? I was confused, but it did not stop me. Right then, I had a God to kill.
Just as we have left the Sarathan Stronghold, and moved to the Pillars, a force barrier surrounded us. A banch of creatures appeared and blocked us in a circle formation. These Demons started annoying me.
"Give up, Kain. Are you trying to escape your destiny?", - said one of them.
"Do not strugle against the fate. You will die eventually", - said another.
"Our master knows the future. The Wheel of Fate demands your soul, as the soul of all the vampires", - said another one.
"Your pathetic words do not make any difference. You had the best thing you could get in this world - the Free Will, but you gave yourself to your God. When one of you, Raziel, refused, you begin understanding how wrong you are, but it is too late, isn't it? Or maybe not. You can still help us. I will offer only once", - I said.
"Do not you understand, Kain. You are playing a loosing battle. Do not fight it. Submit to it", - said another Demon.
"It is useless", - said Janos, - "They are all devoted to their God. They can see him, due to their Free Will, the same az Raziel could. The only difference is that they have faith in him. He is powerful enough to attract them, and use in his ambitions".
"You race has served us well, Janos, but you turned useless. You too, give up. You should not have ever been ressurected", - said another Demon.
"You are messing with the nature itself. What consiquenses do you think it will lead to? Our master knows much better than you, what is better for this world", - said another one.
"All your agenda is a lie. The aeons of your master's conspiration ends today, dogs", - I said.
As I finished my words, a fierce fighting has begun. I was enjoying it. My sword was slashing one by one the heads of those Demons, who were shifting to the Spectral Realm, unable to maintain their physical form because of the woulds. Even Janos was surprised. I too strong, to fast, too stubborn to die... But I noticed something strange. Each Demon that I had killed, was falling down with a smile on his face, and I could suggest only one thing: my adversary was expecting for me.
As all of them died, we headed onwards to the Citadel of Vampires, to the lair of the Elder God itself. The sealed gates of the citadel were opening, when I was stabbing the reaver into the locks. Finally, I reached the hall. I was standing on a platform, just above the place where I had encountered the False God before.
"Weren't you waiting for me, "God"?!", - I asked with an irony.
"You are learning fast, Kain. Tell, me, do you think the history will allow your interruption? You go against the nature itself, ruining all its basical foundations. How far can you go?", - he asked.
"As far as I need to annihilate you! And the most ironic in the question you have just asked me, is the fact that you did the same thing. The laws and order that you speak of, were your works. I know everything. You were hiding the prophecies from everybody, making them believe that the history is irredeemable. But know that eventually, every lie gets exposed. And now feeling that your end is near, you are trying to convince me, that I am doing some kind of damage to this world, while actually, I am redeeming it", - I said.
"Oh... naive puny Vampire. After such a long journey, have not you realized, that it does not matter what action you take, the world will never be finally redeemed. Every good deed, makes it worse for another. Every piece of world you restore, ruins another. Doing good to one, you hurt the other. That is the life. And to survive in this world, you must become above them all. You must rule. Be the shepperd, not the sheep", - the Elder God was pulling another story to me.
"And who said that You are the shepperd? Perhaps, even shepperds are not immortal? What are you trying to tell me, with all the staffs you pull into my head", - I asked.
"Do you not understand? Look on the world. Look down to those pathetic creatures, fighting for every day of existance, thinking just of food or other material things. And we, Kain, are more of that. Challenging the fate, and winning the first round, makes you like a God. Though, I offer you a place in my army. Serving me is much more than serving the mortal world. I can give you Free Will, you just have to serve me. For eternity. Those who serve me well, benefit. Those who deny my rule, go to oblivion, and pray for death that never comes. My servants are invincible, Kain", - he answered.
"Yeah, right. I saw your servants, and how they benefit, or maybe think so, because you washed their brains. These Demons have the Free Will. They can shift through realm. They know the past, the present and the future. They cannot die. But what is the price? They have got no personality. No individual thinking. They are pawns, zombies. You just smashed down their Free Will, making them have it, but no will to use it. And that is what you offer to us?", - asked Janos.
"I was not talking to you, Janos. You cannot even see me, and you talk. I remember the time, aeons ago, when you all were nothing more than an instrument in my hands. You were praying to me, as if I was your creator. Pathetic creatures. I do not understand how the Hylden did not destroy you", - said the Elder, - "And speaking of personality, individualizm, will and free thoughts. Why do you think that these things are the best for Nosgoth habitats? The world will look much better when all will be as one. Each living being connected to other. All the living and the undead are as one. One destiny, one purpose, for everyone. Nobody would hurt or betray each other. Nobody would harm others for his own good. Nobody would follow his selfish ambitions. You are approaching that level of knowledge to understand my words", - The Elder God said.
"You follow your own ambitions - to feed on the souls", - I said.
"Do not you raise conflict in the world, for your "new world order"?", - asked Janos.
"I do. But remember this. I am changing the reality itself. When there is a magical operation of maximum importance: the initiation of a new aeon. When it becomes neccessary to utter a world, the whole planet must be bathed in blood...", - said the Elder.
"You are no God. You are just a parasite that has taken too much on himself. But today it ends. Here... and now!", - I put a statement on this conversation. As I finished, Janos grabbed me, and flew down, under the platform. There was no water: restoring the Balanse had lowered the water-level in Nosgoth. He dropped me down, and I drew the Balanse Reaver. "We meet again, whelp!", - I said...
Giant tentacles were crawling towards me, trying to catch me, to hit me, to drop me on the grownd, to smash me... His eyes were pushing me telepathically. I was falling down, but immediatelly got up. "You will never defeat me! I am the engine of life itself! The Wheel of Fate. I am the whole of the land!", - he was saying all allong, but his words were not interesting me. I was slashing tentacle after tentacle, periodically delivering a fatal blow onto his eye. His each scream was pulling me off, but it did not stop me. Janos was flying around, unable to help me, as he could not see the enemy. However, the enemy could see him, so he had to fly up on the patform, to be out of the Elder's reach.
Finally, I did it. I stabbed the Balanse Reaver into his eye, and he screamed out of pain. I smiled and spit on his face. I had defeated the False God once more... or perhaps I thought so...
"It is not over yet, Kain. You have just defeated me, as you did before, but it was merely a set back. And how long will you hold on like this? You will die eventually. I saw the future, and you are not in it", - said the Elder.
"You see, squid, I am not planning to die before defeating you. And the future does not include you too", - I said.
"Each hit with your Balanse Reaver, is like a byte of a fly for me. It can hurt, but it cannot kill. You cannot destroy me. And the Nexus Stone your bear on your neck. It does not help you, isn't it? The Seer is useless. She knows the future, but she cannot change it. She does not know how to use it. She only knows what the item is", - said the Elder.
Suddenly I saw a flash, and The Seer inside of it. She teleported to the place of fighting. How talented she was, to appear just as the hard part of an episode was over. I was starting hesitating in her ambitions and will to help me.
"It is over, Baal. You know it. Your death is inevitable. And his destiny is to be your killer", - she said.
"No Seer. I know your every move, and you do not know mine. I knew you would come, but you did not know I am going to do this!..", - he said. Then, two Demons suddenly apperared, and grabbed her, not allowing even to move. The last thing she could do was opening a time portal, saying, - "To alter the future, you must uncover the past. Bring together what has been made as a weapon and a sheild, and it will grant you with an ultimate Divine Reaver"...
I stepped into the portal, before it was closed. Janos did not manage to enter. Looks like that time, I was all alone. I felt a sense of vertigo, and found myself in the same place, but full of... Ancient Vampires. Some of the blue noble beings stood near me, staring at me surprisingly shocked. I was shocked too. Where was I... or the more relevant question was: when was I?
