Legacy of Kain: The Lost Prophecy
Chapter I - Dark Prophecy

Without any doubts, I came towards the Pillars. All along the path, that used to be the path of executed vampires during the Sarathan Era, I saw both human and vampiric corpses. But these corpses were fresh. Some of them were still bleeding or even... living... breathing their last seconds. It meant that there was a rush battle in here, and perhaps it's still going on. I could hear noises from far distance. But when had it all been started? I came back to this timeline a few seconds after I left it. The battles had started before I left.
As I approached the plain where the Pillars stood, I saw some soldiers of all my lieutenants. There were all in mess fighting each other. These pathetic wild creatures were the result of the Nupraptor's madness, that came from me, through my mutated lieutenants to their "broods". I could not call them vampires, and Raziel had killed a lot of them while he was chasing me. Without their clan leaders, these soldiers were like confused and hungry animals. Their second handed mutation of depraved evolution had made them mindless, fully depended on their leaders.
Besides these genetically wrong vampires, I could see human hunters, who used the mess inside my empire... to rebel. I had to  admit, Raziel did a great influence on the history even by being present somewhere. These humans were good hunters. They had no efforts of killing the vampire soldier, but their civiliation was degressed centuries ago, so they were using stone and wooden weapons. But they still rebelled. I was never concerned about them. In that conditions, they were no match for me.
A group of the human hunters annihilated all the vampires and surrounded me. I drew out my Soul Reaver, imbued now with the spirits of all the Circle Guardians, and the Balanse Purifying fire, caused by Ariel's soul. At first they looked at the blade frightened. Everybody knew that with the Reaver, I am almost invincible to them. But for my surprise, they stood still, getting ready to attack me.
"I give you a few seconds to change your mind and run away, thus making it easier for both me and all of you... or you want the hard way?", I said, - "I am about to restore Nosgoth to what it should be, and what it was aeons ago. I am here to heal you, not to hurt you!". But these hunters were too stuborn to listen to me. Why humans always liked "the hard way?".
Without any surprise and efforts, I killed them. I knew there would come more of them. But after the slaughter I felt something strange. I felt something like dread... or it was a feeling as if I did something wrong. Something that I should not do. I never felt like that when I was killing somebody... and I killed a lot. Perhaps it was the result of the purifying effect that the Reaver had given me? Many times I had heard before, that the Guardians lost every bit of consience, thus allowing them to perform pure evil. Nupraptor's Madness was shutting down the consience. But when I was purified of that Madness, I have acquired that feeling, that makes me feel bad with myself when doing something bad... something evil.
Furthermore, the consience did not stop at that point. Just in a few seconds, I remembered all me evil deeds throughout my long life. As I had doomed the world by refusing sacrifice, as I had devastated the land with my army of vampires. As I killed Umah, awakened six Sarathan Paladins and turned them into vampiric lieutenants. As I nearly destroyed the human civilization, threw Raziel into the abyss and... Raziel. I felt so sorry for him. He was better than me. He gave his life to save the world, even when he had the option not to. He did not deserve his fate.
I had no time for accusing myself in my deeds, even thought it really bothered me. I saw one of the hunters on the ground. He was the only one of them who lived. I did not wound him mortally, he was very quick and avoided it. But he was on the ground, begging for mercy, looking into my eyes. I was upto doing what I usually did - drinking blood. I grabbed his neck and loaned towards him. He closed his eyes, still begging to let him go. And suddenly... I stopped. I could not do what I was intended to. A voice in my head told me to let the human go. And it was stronger then me. My arms left the man, and he quickly ran away, thanking me for sparing his life. What is going on? Was this how every being in Nosgoth felt without being affected by Nupraptor's Curse?
I did not drink blood from the man I spared, but I did drink it from those whom I had already killed. I did not mean to stand and wait for more of them to come, especially not now, with that so called "consience" that is going to chase me all along.

I came towards the Pillar of Balanse, and slightly touched it with my left arm. And it was then... the whole planet was shattered. The white marble began to show up, and shape on into shard and cylinder spikes, that rose up to the sky. It looked very beautiful, seeing the Pillars at the moment of their restoration. But it was just the beginning. The dark clouds that covered the sunlight centuries ago, have quickly disappeared, and I had to stand in the shadow of the Balanse Pillar. The skyline became clear and light blue, the sun showed up, and a small wind blew all over the place. It was the time of dawn. The land took it's normal shape. The grass rose up from the ground, and forests turned green. The rivers were suddenly filled with water. The terrible smell of ashes in the air was gone, and replaced with fresh morning breathe. The corpes of depraved vampires, and also the living onse, have just desappeared in the air as sand on the wind. All the results of Nupraptor's corruptions were undone.
I saw Nosgoth as heaven, and smiled. A great sense of joy overwhelmed me. Here at last, the great moment, which I was waiting for all along, upon which I had gambled everything. Raziel's sacrifice was not in vein. It was worthy. I had doomed the world, and now I redeemed it. It was so ironic, wasn't it? My rule will be different now. "I will try to make the world a good place for both vampires and humans. They will live in harmony with each other and with nature", - I thought.
A great wave of human hunters saw all of this. They bent on their knees, declaring me as their God. So did all of them. They knew who I was, and what I had brought upon them. But now I was their messiah. Some of them even asked me to give them the Dark Gift of Vampirism. I decided to share the Dark Gift only with those who were chosen as the Pillar Guardians. Perhaps this was the great beginning o a new age, a new aeon? I went back to Sarathan Stronghold, to have a rest. I was so sure that my journeys were over, but I did not know that the final part of this conflict was yet to be played. The culmination was just ahead. But first I needed to sleep for a while.

I woke up just at the time of sunset. I got up and using the Bat Cloud form reached the Pillars. And then - I saw something different. Just on the front side of the Balanse Pillars, I could see a text - magical runes. Who could write them on the Pillar? Trying to read this, I understood that it was something like a prophecy, similar to that I could see in Avernus or Vampire Citadel. But these were only runes, no images. And there were only a few words were understood for me, because I saw them in Avernus and Vampiric Citadel. The text was written in an ancient language that I could not understand. Looks like long before the banishment of Hylden and the cursing of the Ancients, both of the races had the same language. Perhaps the "Holy War" itself made them separate their cultures and traditions. Perhaps the text - and it was no doubt for me that it was a prophecy - was written before the "Holy War" between the Ancient Vampires and the Hylden. Perhaps this was the true fate of the history. It's the real and final stream, which my paradoxes just foundate and maintain. The problem was the Elder God, who was hiding some parts of the prophecy, and confusing the Ancient Vampires. I knew I must read it.
This prophecy was destined to be seen only to the Scion of Balanse after he restores the Pillars. I had many visions and dreams about these signs and runes. And yet, even now when my dream came true, I could do nothing. I did not understand that ancient language, but I know whom I can ask. Janos Audron perhaps should be able to translate that language. As I remembered, the Sarathan Lord cast him into the Demonic Realm. About two millenia had passed, but I knew that he still lived. He had the Heart of Darkness, and as long as it remained functional and alive, we both lived. If the heart is destroyed, we both die. This was the ironic simbiotical connection between the two of us.
If Janos is alive, he is trapped in the Demonic Realm. Only I can do a little portal to enter there. I felt as I ad to go and rescue him, which was again an influence of that strange and terrible feeling - consience. Otherwise, I would not care neither for the Prophecy, nor for Janos Audron. But perhaps this time, it was not only the consience, but also a curiosity that made me take the task? Or just I could not imagine my life without doing something. Perhaps living a quiet life was not for me? I knew I would see about that. Searching for Janos and translating the prophecy at first looked like a simple trip for me, after everything I have passed not long before. But this would become my terrible mistake of misunderstanding the importance of the prophecy that was written at the dawn of the world, and the beginning of the history of Nosgoth.
I have been only once in that terrible place - the Demonic Realm. As the Material and Spectral Realms, this realm had it's own rules, too. However it was closer to the Material Realm, as it could maintain only physical forms, or those forms that could exist both in Material and Spectral Realms: like Raziel, Elder God and the Demons that were chasing Raziel when he was trying to escape his destiny. What I remembered from that realm, is that the physical forms were looking the same as in the Material Realm, but the living beings that existed only in the Material Realm, could be seen from the Demonic realm. In other words, Hylden always knew what was going on in Nosgoth. Also I knew, that staying for a long time in that dimension could cause physical mutation. I just wondered - would I recognize Janos when I meet him?
