Legacy of Kain: The Lost Prophecy
Prologue

Staring through the crack of the wall, I could see the world entirely dying. Standing on the top of the world, the ancient Vampire Citadel, I saw the collapsed Pillars of Nosgoth, the sand storms that surrounded it, and the heavy rain that fell all along. The sun was hidden by dark clouds, and seemed like it would never shine again. Lightning storms were rumbling all over the sky line. The whole planet was shattered at that day - the day that was remembered as the greatest cataclysm in the world, when the Scion of Balanse refused to sacrifice himself for restoring Balanse to the Pillars.
My name is Kain, the Scion of Balanse, and it was all my fault. At that day, these were my selfish ambitions, which made me take this decision. However, after my long life and journey to the past, I realized that my selfish decision somehow helped the world. Being the last living vampire, killing myself would mean the inevitable passing the binding of the Pillars to humans, which are not competent enough to guard the Pillars of Nosgoth. With their binding, the barrier between the Material Realm and the Demonic Realm will quickly fall, and all the Demonic Realm inhabitats will roam Nosgoth.
By refusing taking death, I condamned Nosgoth. Following my selfish ambitions I have finally conquered the world, and my race has prospered. However, when my dreams came true, I realized how pathetic was I and my parasitic Empire. My brethren, six leutenants turned my noble vampiric Empire to its disgusting former self. Only one of them was still in mind - Raziel. He was the only one who was still following the morale, unlike me and his other brothers. Very soon I realized that Raziel held the key to change destiny - the Free Will. I always trusted my visions. Thats is why I had to betray him, and throw into the Abyss. As I had predicted, he killed his parasitic brothers, and came for me...
I hoped to change everything. I did not want to kill my self for restoring the world. Nor I did not want to rule a corrupted and parasitic Empire, of hungry sadistic vampiric brethren. That is not what I always wanted. The fate gave me two options... two sides of a coin. And I found the third option. The edge of the coin. I did not die, but I cleared myself of all the corruption. I cleared myself from Nupraptor's madness, and gained the true vision. I was purified, and could see the true enemy. I have just defeated him, and now, I should restore the Balanse.

This age was not mine. I have come from the future, about two and a half millenia later. There I left my corrupted Empire, and now I come back, with the weapon that has the power to redeem it. Basically, it should be me, who will restore the Balanse in my timeline. History abhors a paradox, and as such, I will not do it here, where and when I do not belong. It was clear for me, that I had to return to the aeon when I had left. To the actual time when me and then Raziel jumped throgh the portal of time.
I did not mean to stay in this timeline any longer. Taking the Cloud of Bats form, I flew to the Sarathan Stronghold. I have not encountered any living being when I changed back. Following the events of the cataclysm, all the humans have just fled, or hid in the catacombs of the stronghold. Pathetic cowards. They have no idea, that it is just the beginning of the Dark Era.
But now, I had no means of killing these vile bastards. There will be enough time for me to feed, and for them to find their death at the incoming war against the vampires. I moved through the dark corridors and finally reached the Chronoplast Chamber. Configuring the device, I activated it.
And then I felt as if I was pushed into a blue endless vortex, until I realized that I was standing in the same room. I went to another room and through a big window saw dark red skies. Welcome back to my empire. From the same place I was standing, I could see the same picture of the Pillars. They were ruined, broken, cracked all over. Only the Balanse Pillar looked at least... like a pillar. It was somehow holding on my throne.
The end was then. The great moment of my long life, that I was waiting for. I felt as if I was in paradise. Even though I still haven't even reached the Pillars. Just in half a mile, my dream was waiting for me. "Just in a few minutes, I will redeem the world and claim as my own. And my rule will be different from that of my previous", - I promised myself.
